I always wanted to take photos, but didn't own a camera until I was twenty years old. My mother told me it was too expensive. She's probably right. I bought a Pentax SP500 -- that's the mechanical kind that only needs a battery to run the light metre -- for $100 CAD on eBay. It's older than I am and I suspect it has light leaks, but I love it anyway. Sometimes it takes good pictures and sometimes everything turns out blurry. This is most likely my ineptitude, combined with my inability to hold my hands still for any longer than 1/125th of a second. I have two lenses for it, one of which is a macro lens some online stranger sent to me, for free. For FREE! If the gods governing photography don't want me taking closeup photos of clocks, old glass bottles, and my boyfriend's nose hairs, I don't know why I own a free zoom lens. I don't know what makes a photo a good photo versus a bad photo. I don't know about using professional-grade film. I don't know about putting filters over my lens. This is not photography, merely a collection of pictures. Oh yeah. They're arranged into categories, of sorts:
